Suriel Hot Tea

A spicy hot tea cocktail inspired by the Suriel from A Court of Thorns and Roses Series by Sarah J. Maas.

The Suriel is one of my favorite characters in the ACOTAR series. A creature that is supposed to be so malicious had turned into a beloved character! I had to start A Court of Drams with a cocktail inspired by him.

The Suriel is known for spilling so HOT tea to our girl Feyre, so this cocktail is tea based. We add some whiskey to help it go down a little easier and you know, that hot tea is usually pretty life altering knowledge so we throw in some spice!

Suriel Hot Tea Recipe

Ingredients

• Tea (I prefer to use a black tea or other dark tea)

• Hot water

• 1 Tbsp Honey (or Hot Honey)

• 1-1.5 oz. Whiskey

• 1 Tbsp of Lemon juice

• 1 Slice of Lemon, for garnish
  

Optional Ingredients for Spice

• 0.5-1 oz. Ancho Chile Liqueur (optional for spice)

• 1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper (optional for a hint of spice)

Instructions

1. Boil water for tea.

2. If you are using loose tea, prepare you tea bag. If you want to use the crushed red pepper, this is where you will want to put it in the tea bag.

3. Steep based on the instructions on your tea.

4. Once Tea is ready, add the honey, whiskey, liqueur (if using), and lemon juice.

5. Garnish with Lemon slice floating on top. You can also add sliced chili pepper.
